Thank you! Like almost everyone else these days, I work predominantly on a computer. But I still think my best editing comes with printed text, pencil, and silence. McCullough was onto something.

So much interesting history here Neil thank you! Love that T.S. Eliot quote and how he thought the technology of the typewriter changed both his style and content.

Thanks Victoria! I wonder if there are any poets out there today whose styles are altered by composing on phones... πŸ€”πŸ€£

Good question. Definitely by texting language for sure although I’m not good on poets. Artists definitely. David Hockney is all about iPad paintings.

Wow, small world -- I was only watching a video of Hockney last night! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UVBYfTr8BRQ

Loved the post. Glad I learned to write before the computer was a thing. Typing was slower and writing with a pencil was slower yet. We've come so far in a circle - slow eating and slow stitching and I'll bet slow typing is next.

Thanks Jeri. When the focus on everything seems to be now, now, now, there’s definitely value in saying no, no, no. πŸ™‚
