TypeTown was always a fortnightly newsletter.
But our last missive came in July 2023, so we might be stretching things somewhat.
Yet here we are, dusting off the remnants of this community and hoping you’re still around.
And because it’s Christmas and the presents won’t wrap themselves, this resurrection is short — inspired exclusively by actor and writer Ethan Hawke.
“I am so bored by AI. One of the things I love about the theatre is AI can’t do it. I couldn’t be less interested in computers and fake things.
“I like people. I like the way they smell, I like the way they talk, and I like the way they think.
“I like to think of AI as a plagiarising mechanism. That’s all it is.
“And I know it’s going to change the world, it’s screwing everybody up, and I’m not in denial about any of that. But I’m in open rebellion.”
